But I'm virtually certain that it is your IR Receiver and related driver which is your problem, not your remote (at least not yet, but I don't know what remote you I seems a shame that Hauppauge does not just ship the USN IR receiver and IR blaster with the HVR-2250. The red side carries only the red LED light output (supposed to help you see it working) but it is very dim, and the flashes too brief to be really useful
BTW: Consider a Logitech K400 keyboard; it's just big enough for "caveman fingers". IR.exe is running. By sharing your experience you can help other community members facing similar problems. I thought that the card was in case you had more than one setup box.
